Great Ocean Quarterly is a beautiful high-quality journal of literature, art, photography, science, history and ideas, gathered around the central theme of our relationship to the oceans. It's printed on heavy stock and it goes thump when you put it down. We think it might be the world's first literary journal devoted entirely to the ocean. In our next issue, on sale 2 April, we've got glorious feature stories from two very different artists: Fred Williams painting the islands of Bass Strait, and National Geographic's trailblazing underwater photographer David Doubilet looking back over his distinguished career. There's also fiction by Jack Finlay, an essay by leading British author Philip Hoare, a walk on the Margaret River coast, and the story of a sea-going rhinoceros, along with much, much more.
