Nick knows all about the Winter Palace (his Dad is the worst magician in Las Vegas after all) but he never thought he would set foot in it much less be told that he is going to be spending the summer apprenticed to the one and only Damian himself! To make matters even more remarkable it turns out that Damian is not only a first-rate illusionist he is also a real magician and part of the same clan of Russian magicians that Nick's mother belonged to, the Magic Keepers. But the best summer Nick can possibly imagine is not going to go according to plan. The Eternal Hourglass, a lost family heirloom that can stop time needs to be found. The Hourglass' trail from Jules Verne to Harry Houdini ends, it appears, with Nick's mother. The only other clue Nick can find points to the worst name in Russian history, the coldest and darkest of names, Rasputin. With a wildly imaginative story, a lightning-quick pace, tons of great action and just a whole lot of fun, this is sure to be one of the break-out hits of the season!
