Description

First published in America in 1947 and never out of print, this classic bedtime story has lulled generations of young children to sleep. Having sold several million copies worldwide, it is certain to become a favourite in the UK. A young bunny rabbit goes through his bedtime routine, bidding goodnight to all of the familiar objects and characters in his room. As the time for going to sleep grows nearer, the room grows darker and quieter, until all we can see are the glow of the fire and the light of the stars and moon. Beautiful, soft black-and-white line drawings on alternate pages contrast with vibrant, glowing spreads. The naming of objects and the lyrical repetition of "goodnight" celebrate the beauty of the simple rituals that children love.
