Rajith Savanadasa was born in Sri Lanka and now lives in Melbourne. He was named one of Sydney Morning Herald's Young Novelists of the Year in 2017 for his debut novel Ruins, which was also shortlisted for the Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction and the Australian Literary Society Gold Medal. Rajith runs Open City Stories, an oral history project documenting the lives of a group of asylum seekers in Melbourne.
